PFEL Monthly Wind Products

The following wind products are calculated monthly at 15 standard locations along the west coast of North America by PFEL from atmospheric pressure fields supplied by the U.S. Navy Fleet Numerical Meteorological and Oceanographic Center (FNMOC), Monterey CA:

1. Surface Atmospheric Pressure
2. North-South component of surface wind
3. East-West component of surface wind
4. North-South component of wind stress
5. East-West component of wind stres
6. Curl of surface wind stress
7. Cube of wind speed
8. North-South component of Ekman Transport
9. East-West component of Ekman Transport
10. Offshore Ekman transport (Upwelling index)
11. Vertical Velocity into Ekman Layer
12. Sverdrup Wind Stress Curl Transport
